Katie Daisy was raised by the birds and warm breezes of small-town Lindenwood, Illinois, brought up among the other wildflowers with roots planted deeply in the natural world.
She found her voice and honed her skills at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, graduating in 2009 and subsequently beginning an adventurous career as a freelance illustrator. She has licensed her work for a wide-reaching variety of products, and has a growing collection of vibrant murals around Central Oregon. Working in watercolor and acrylic paint, Katie strives to capture the magic, beauty, and joy of a life lived in harmony with nature.
Katie currently lives and works in the quaint mountain town of Sisters, Oregon.

Leah grew up in Indiana. After college she moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she met her husband, Lou, an officer in the Army. Shortly thereafter they transferred to Tacoma, Washington where Leah found her passion for gardening (who doesn’t when they live in that climate!).
Over the next several years she moved frequently, always starting gardens but never getting to see them into maturity. In North Carolina she went back to school for an Associates Degree in Landscape Gardening from Sandhills Community College, a well known program on the East coast.
Eventually she landed in Washington, DC where she worked as an Estate Gardener at private homes, and then as a Tropical Plant Technician caring for indoor plants in offices and restaurants in the DC Metro area.
When Lou retired from the Army in 2015 they sold everything and moved into a 43’ motorhome, traversing the country (again) to figure out where to put down roots. Being outdoor enthusiasts and lovers of craft beer, Bend became the obvious choice. Leah quickly realized that the Central Oregon climate was going to be a challenge, probably the most difficult climate she had gardened in during her career. Undaunted, she has been converting her landscape into a very small farm, or a large garden, depending how you look at it, on Powers Road in Bend. She is currently a Central Oregon Master Gardener Trainee, hoping to earn her certification at the end of the year. You will be able to find her bouquets at various retail establishments during the season (announcements to come!). She also offers custom bouquets, DIY buckets, a spring bouquet subscription, and wholesale to florists and event planners.
When she has time off, you can find her hanging out with Lou and her Mini Goldendoodle, Rosie Jane, enjoying some of Bend’s yummy craft beers and attending as many live music events as possible.

I can keenly remember climbing the fence to watch my Pop work in the garden. The way he stood up with dirt caked on his knees and that grin. Us grandkids weren’t allowed over that fence unless we were with him. I remember one time when he wasn’t there that I jumped that fence. Walking through the rows. Picking out a carrot, dusting it off on my knee and eating it. Then I heard his voice, “Haystack are you out here?” I quickly laid my thin, six year old frame down under the raspberry vines and tried not to giggle. I could hear him passing row after row until he passed where I hid. I quickly sprang to my feet and bolted for the neighbor’s fence. I jumped over that fence into the neighbor’s horse corral. I could hear Pop laughing and saying, “Haystack, I’m gonna get you.” My love of all things in God’s creation began with both my Pop and Grandma and my Gram. I was blessed to have grandparents on both sides who shared their passion of cultivating vegetables and flowers with me.
My great preference of flowers began 25 years ago with a bucket of 250 Iris rhizomes from my Gram’s farm. A gift and remembrance of the farm from her, has turned into an Iris love affair. So many years we spent together dividing them, replanting, fertilizing and weeding. Than the smelling. Watching her tenderly cup each Iris, bring it to her face and take in their scent. My love of flowers began with her. It has been a joy in my heart to have her routinely walk the gardens with me. Sharing her years of wisdom with what each one needs or praise for how they are doing. I will miss that when she is gone! In addition to my Iris love affair; I have added Dahlias, Poppies, Zinnias, Cosmos, Gladiolus, Rudbeckia, Sunflowers, Sweet Peas and more. It feels like it has taken a lifetime to have a career I love. I am excited to share my flowers with the world. May the seeds, tubers and starts I sell produce gorgeous blooms in your garden and cultivate joy in your heart.

Coming from a long line of Oklahoma farmers, Lisa came by her love of gardening honestly. She began growing flowers and herbs commercially back in the early 1990s on a small farm in North Texas, long before it was cool. She took some years off to pursue a career off the farm in archaeology, but she just couldn’t stay away from the beautiful flowers. So after moving to Oregon in 2015, she started trying to learn how to grow in a much more extreme climate. Every day is a new adventure, and more importantly, a new learning experience. Always dabbling, she makes botanic inks, does a lot of eco-dyeing, and almost always has some weird concoction brewing. She continues to use sustainable practices, in an effort to work with her very challenging microclimate (also known as the black hole!) of the high desert and hopes to one day be able to experience a full 90 days without a frost. Lisa is the founder and owner of the Central Oregon Flower Collective.

I grew up in a small town in Oregon where I met and married my high school sweetheart Greg. We made our home in Hillsboro where we raised our two children. We always enjoyed camping and other outdoor activities and our dream was to live in central Oregon some day. While on a camping trip to Tumalo State park many years ago we found and purchased the 5 acre property where we have built our home. We completed our home in 2009 and a job opportunity took us to Hawaii where we lived on Oahu for three years.
When we moved back to Oregon in 2012 our property presented us with a blank canvas of mostly sage and bitter brush. After several years of clearing our property and through much trial and error we learned about growing flowers in our challenging climate and among the hungry voles, deer, and rabbits.
We found our niche plantings with lavender, poppies, penstemon, sunflowers, and an array of herbal varieties. I have lavender in a variety of purple and some nice white lavender. These are available both fresh and dried. I use my dried lavender to make sachets and other products for sale. I’ve expanded my business to include European linens and local note cards. Recently I’ve made a connection with a linen shop in Italy and have beautiful Italian linens for sale. I will also be selling blank note cards that depict scenes from my garden along with floral and other images. I am able to offer my products at reasonable costs since I have very low overhead expenses and grow my flowers very naturally.
My husband and I have lived in central Oregon for 13 happy years. We believe in volunteering and supporting our community and have done volunteer work for the Sisters Garden Club, Sisters Library, Sisters Folk Festival, and Sisters Trail Alliance.
Grown in the heart of Bend, Kalmia Flower Farm shares her love of flowers and heirloom squash. A weekend hobby has turned into a full fledged farm, providing a limited bouquet subscription and dahlias later in the season. This season, KFF is expanding to a small plot off Deschutes Mkt road to offer even more beauty to our community.

In addition to growing flowers, we are raising our children, cattle, and hay on this land. Ashley is often found foraging the property for grasses and “weeds” to create unique bouquets that reflect the Central Oregon landscape. Our flower farm is a combination of passions for agriculture, science, art, and family. We offer fresh seasonal bouquets, dried arrangements and wreaths in addition to designing for small gatherings and weddings. We are looking forward to connecting with others in the flower community!

Tumalo Flower Farm began through my love of tending flowers inherited by my mother. Our 5-acre property (a former horse rescue) is nestled in beautiful Tumalo. In the spring of 2023, I used the plentiful horse manure left by the former property occupants to build the first 10 rows and started growing cut flowers in a former pig pen which was the beginning of Tumalo Flower Farm. Our plans for Tumalo Flower Farm, include a greenhouse for seed starting and to establish a large plot that was formerly rough trodden by horses into an abundance of flower rows. Our farm is pollinator friendly, and we use the no till method whenever possible to build up our Central Oregon soil. I hope my flowers showcase the true passion and excitement I have for them and as always encourage all to Buy Local Flowers. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, enjoying our pups and tending to our chickens.

Windy Ridge Lavender and Flower Farm is the pride of Amy & Scott Ochander. Sitting atop a ridge in beautiful Tumalo, Oregon, Windy Ridge overlooks the Cascade Mountain Range to the west and Smith Rock and horse ranches to the east. Residents of Central Oregon for over a decade, the Ochanders purchased Windy Ridge in the summer of 2021 and planted the first fields of lavender and flower gardens in the summer of 2023. After retiring from her first passion, serving children as an educator and administrator across the country, Amy is starting a new chapter as a veggie gardener and flower farmer with the support of her husband, Scott’s entrepreneurial experience and business knowledge.

Partners Hana and Spencer run Zodiac Farms, an operation focused on growing high quality flowers, vegetables, poultry and eggs. We are dedicated to serving our Central Oregon community and believe in offering local, sustainable, and affordable food and flowers for everyone. Our farm is located off of Old Bend-Redmond Highway, halfway between the two cities, and we couldn't ask for a better (but also challenging!) place to learn and grow. We hope we can inspire the next generation of farmers with our work!
